Northwest University Campus Ministries serves a student body of 700 plus students and runs four to five services and events each week. Each year, the designer sets a new visual direction to match the current student body. I owned the design direction for the academic year and produced graphics for weekly and special events.

The Team
I worked within a 12 person cross functional campus team that planned and hosted weekly and special events. While I led graphic design, I collaborated most closely with the social media coordinator and photographer to align visuals across channels and timing. Event coordinators shared details and updates, which I translated into clear, easy to read graphics for students.

How Students Learned About Events
Graphics were the main way students learned about events and updates. Most communication reached students through Instagram, campus TV screens, and printed posters. Because these were often seen quickly and at a distance, I focused on strong hierarchy, readability, and clear information placement across every format.
My Approach
I focused on clear communication, readability, and strong information hierarchy across every graphic. I worked in quick cycles, testing layout and type choices across social, screens, and posters to see what read best at a glance. I shared drafts with the social media coordinator, photographer, and event leads, then iterated based on feedback to refine direction and clarity before finalizing assets.
My Designs
Graphics supported weekly communication across campus. Students relied on these visuals to learn about events and updates. Designs stayed consistent throughout the year while allowing each event to feel distinct.

Reflection
I enjoyed working within a fast moving, collaborative team where many projects were happening at once. The pace required quick prioritization, clear communication, and frequent iteration. Designing for weekly and special events pushed me to think about readability, timing, and consistency across multiple formats. This experience strengthened my ability to adapt to feedback, manage several projects at once, and create graphics that communicated information clearly and quickly.
